Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy de-Domme, France on August 9 1976 the youngest of four children. Her parents, a dentist and a teacher recognised and supported her love of theatre and drama as early as she was a child. This superseded an initial desire to become a primatologist thanks to her obsession with monkeys. A quick and successful start to success as well as a swift rise in fame was a sign of her development as an actor. Following her graduation She was a participant in the French talent-scouting TV program Jeunes Premiers. She won the title of Best Young Actress at Beziers Festival of Young Actors in the year 2000 and began her career as an actress. Tautou was a student at in the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris when she was a kid and was a student there in high school, has disavowed her Catholic education. Alongside her acting career, Tautou did modeling, and was the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Also, she has an intense love of photography. Recently, she presented an exhibit of her photographs at the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. The focus of her photography is celebrity, fame and the media that scrutinised her after her rise to fame in Amelie. Also, she has numerous photographs of her self. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and recognition with her movie role in Le Fabuleux by Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box office success, and received accolades in award ceremonies all over the globe. The film is still the top grossing French language film on the market in US. After this huge success, Tautou went on to star in many films such as British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. In addition, she was a part of Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
